The team is excited to ramp up again after our holiday break.
First, we just want to say thank you to all who downloaded the playable alpha and provided feedback. We spent the last few weeks reviewing your comments and suggestions. This has helped us focus our development efforts in crafting a unique experience that you will enjoy playing.
We want to review some of the changes and additions that will come to The Mind’s Eclipse over the next few months.
Adding a Map
Having a map in the game was the most requested feature in the feedback. We hope to begin implementing potential options for this in the near future.
While we love the scene descriptions for the various rooms and environments in the game, we feel that making those rooms interactive will provide a much more interesting experience for the player. More on this in the coming months.
Rethinking the Mini-Game
Having a tutorial for the hacking game was an oft-requested feature, so we will implement that going forward. After playing the mini-game ourselves over and over, we weren’t completely satisfied with the design, so we’ve decided to rethink the hacking game from the ground up. We want the mini-game to be simple, yet fun while also serving a purpose within the story. We have already begun changes to this and, if you've been following us on Twitter, you’ll see some of the concept screens we’ve posted.
Due to the scope of these changes, we will be pushing our release window from Summer 2016 to Fall 2016.
We hope to release on the following platforms: PC, Mac, Linux, Android Tablet, iOS Tablet
Many of you love the unique style of the environment backgrounds. This style will continue. In tandem, we will also be putting a lot of thought into polishing the UI of the game. We want to optimize the UI to be approachable by anyone and work great across all release platforms.
